POINTSHAVERS.COM MOST WANTED LIST The PointShavers.com Most Wanted List highlights the worst examples of sportsmanship in professional and amateur sports. Naturally here at PointShavers.com we are always looking for new recruits to help us corrupt the system in order to profit for our own personal gain. "I'm rich, bitch!" - Dave Chapelle...Actor and Comedian TOP 10 MOST WANTED - WEEK OF 02/13/09 |

1) US Olympic World Record Holder Michael Phelps will be immortalized for all time. Not only did he shatter his own World Record and receive a record breaking 8 gold medals as an Olympic swimmer; but last week, we come to find out that there is a small possiblity that Phelps' could have tested positive for PDD's (Performance Detracting Drugs) during the 2008 Summer Games. If Michael was "high" for the entire Summer Olympics, then he gets our unanimous vote for the best athelete of all-time. | 2) A-Fraud..."Need I say More?" |
3) Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys release Adam "Pacman" Jones at the conclusion of a very dissapointing season with the Cowboys. 31 tackles, 0 INTs, and over $13 million dollars later, the addition of Pacman Jones to the Dallas Cowboys lineup looks like one of the worst offseason moves in the history of Jerry Jones' tenure as Cowboys owner. In the words of Skip Bayless of ESPN's First Take, "First you add suspended DL Tank Johnson...then you add troubled CB Pacman Jones, and now you're telling me that T.O. "Team Obliterator" and his gang of misfits will lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl?" | 4) Evidently OJ is finding life in prison just fine. | 5) Hours before tip-off of the NY Knicks - Cavaliers game, millions of dollars went on the Knicks to drop the line from 6 to 5.5. With seconds left, the Cavaliers found themselves at the free throw line with a 4 point lead. The Cavaliers make the first, and miss the second -- Knicks Cover! In two prior meeting the Cavaliers outscored the Knicks by an average score margin of victory of over 15.0 ppg. | 6) Bernie Madoff, the most "hated man in New York" apparently made off with millions of dollars at the expense of NY Mets front office executives. Since the 1920's, did anyone ever think that we would need to pull money out of banks and long term investments and throw it all under a mattress? Well...that time has arrived. History seems to find a way of repeating itself...doesn't it? | 7) Former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin was hired by the University of Tennesse to become head football coach. Kiffin was fired by Raiders owner Al Davis months ago, and Davis did his best to make Kiffin out to be a lying SOB; but, we all assumed that Al was just "off his rocker". We come to find out that just weeks after taking the job at Tennessee, Kiffin falsely accuses Florida and Georgia of stealing UT recruits and calls Urban Meyer a "cheater". The Southeastern Conference fines Kiffin and the University of Tennesee for SEC rules violations which include false accusation and recruiting misconduct. Is it just me...or does this guy scare you a little bit...? Like...he kind of weirds me out.... | 8) Months and months later, Ed Hochuli's gaffe at the Broncos - Chargers game at Invesco still keeps him in our Top 10. In my NFL gambling lifetime I have seen a fumble ruled a forward pass (Pats vs Raiders), a backwards pass ruled a forward pass (Chargers vs Steelers), and a fumble which resulted in a backwards pass ruled an incomplete pass (Chargers vs Broncos). The NFL Officials definitely keep things interesting, don't they? | 9) Barry Bonds "never knowingly used steroids or performance enhancing drugs." That's his story and he's sticking to it. Unfortunately US Congress isn't buying it. Barry could be convicted of perjury charges for lying under oath during Congressional hearings concearning steroids and performance enhancing drugs.
Others receiving votes: New York Knicks guard Stephan Marbury is still making millions after refusing to play in an NBA game after coach D'antoni asked Stephan to come off the bench as a role player, NFL Officials take back Troy Palomalu's touchdown after a replay officials rule that Ladanian Tomlinson's lateral was a forward pass (the touchdown would have allowed the Steelers to cover)
